Bioinformatics and Computational Infrastructure Unit
We provide analytical and scientific support and consulting services to all researchers at LUDC in bioinformatics, biostatistics, database management, web-based applications development, secure data storage, and access to a high-performance computing environment.
Our unit is involved in coordinating the collection and storage of data from several cohort studies within LUDC, including ANDIS and the Botnia Study. We also manage the samples collected as part of these and other studies, such as POInT (Primary Oral Insulin Training), and iBEAT-DKD (Prognostic Imaging Biomarkers for Diabetic Kidney Disease) using the laboratory management information system (LIMS).
We coordinate the bioinformatics activities at LUDC in the form of seminars and workshops. We plan to run workshops on computing topics such as how to organize a dataset, command line computing, R programming, data analysis, among others.
